Agriturismo or villa in Southern Tuscany, Umbria, Le Marche or beyond this Summer

We have spent a number of holidays in Italy and are looking for something for this year.

Over the years we’ve visited many of the main cities and sights and prefer locations near a variety of slightly less hectic towns for afternoon visits and dinner.

Favourites have included the Baroque hill towns of Sicily, villages like Montone in Umbria and the very off the beaten track towns on the Liguria/Tuscany border (Luingiana).

Can anyone recommend a great location, or better still accommodation, in Southern Tuscany or Umbria (perhaps near Orvieto/Grosetto), Le Marche or frankly anywhere else that fits the bill within reasonable distance of an airport.

Definitely need a pool (shared with a small number of others is fine) and good quality but not completely break the bank accommodation with two bedrooms and cooking facilities. Walking distance to a village with a restaurant would be a bonus but not essential. No need to be near a beach nor do we need an agriturismo with catered breakfast/restaurant on site. We will definitely hire a car.

Marco & Andrea near Amelia in S Umbria has a few apartments. There’s a cafe, shop and restaurant within walking distance. Beautiful place!
