Looking for recommendations for campsites similar to Eurocamp in South France or Western France. We are not planning to camp, it would be a mobile home, children are 17 & 14.

Have a look at Yelloh, they have loads around France. We have stayed at a couple and both were nice.

Have a look at Sandaya, similar to Eurocamp.

La Garangeoire in Vendee is gorgeous. Stayed a few times based on recommendations from here. They have some eurocamp units but their own units are nicer and cheaper.

Just to add it's part of the Castels group.
Book direct with the campsite on their website.

Glad to read this as have booked La Garangeoire for this summer!

We've enjoyed Sandaya sites too

Eurocamp just have mobilles on other people's campsites. Sandaya and Yelloh are big companies with lots of sites. Siblu have a different model where they own the sites but the vans are mostly owned by individuals and rented out. Places we have enjoyed that would be good for teenagers: Siblu La Carabasse, Les Ranchisses in the Ardeche, Les Peneyrals and St Avit Loisirs in the Dordogne.

Thank you all. I’ll check some of these out.

You will have a lovely time!

Book in for the cheese and wine tasting evening at the bar if they still do that, and your kids are of an age they can be left or go to the evening kids club.

We've tried a few other sites like yelloh etc and never found one that ticked all the boxes as much as Garangeoire.

I've seen this site mentioned a few times. From the pictures and description online it seems similar to others in France, what in particular recommends it ?

For me it just seemed to hit the sweet spot with a few things

  • a manageable distance from Calais
  • lovely clear roads around it and a good range of things for day trips
  • nice beach a short drive away
  • big enough site with enough going on but not too big, good level of quietness for us but still some entertainment
  • swimming pool, with two slides. Enough to keep my kids entertained but not huge. The fake beach lido thing, and the scenic lake.
  • nice sized plots and grounds really well maintained
  • clean and good facilities
  • a takeaway, bar, and posher restaurant
  • kids club
