Calpe?

Hi, has anyone been to Calpe recently and what’s it like please?

It is me and 2 teenage girls. I prefer a bit of sightseeing but they want to stay around the pool or beach. It would be August time.

I’m happy to sightsee on my own but I’m thinking there may be more to coax them out around that area in Spain, also short flights compared to Greece etc.

I’ve looked at so many different holidays recently I’m starting to get confused by it all 😂

It’s a lively seaside town. Not as lively as Benidorm though!
some nice shops and restaurants. Have a look on Google Earth, it will give you an idea.

went to Calpe last month.
lovely place with an Old Town which is great for mooching. Buses and trams to Altea and moraría if you want to explore further.
Lots of Europeans holiday there and folk from Madrid have holiday apartments.

I was pleasantly surprised

Theres some lovely little smaller towns in the area. Beautiful coves for snorkeling.

I visited Calpe from Benidorm and wished I was staying there as found Benidorm a shithole.

Nice. Not pretty but has a great prom and plenty of bars and restaurants which can be amazing value. Feels a bit more Spanish than some of the area.

I live near there. Calpe is considered mini-Benidorm. A dump. There are far, far nicer towns in the area - Moraira is only ten minutes away but much, much nicer. Honestly though you won't really won't want to do much out and abouting in August, it's too hot and sweaty.

Thanks everyone, some good advice and I will have a look at some surrounding areas too
I stayed in Calpe when I was a teenager but that was 30 odd yeas ago
It was coming up as relatively cheap for school holidays but obviously don’t want a rubbish time. It’s hard to get the right balance.

I’ve been, it’s quite a busy seaside town - typical promenade with restaurants, shops etc, nice beach. It’s nowhere near as busy as Benidorm, probably a good compromise with teens as there will be plenty to entertain them but the surrounding area has plenty of sightseeing options
