Wanting to go away in June, can anyone recommend a really family friendly hotel that they’ve stayed in? That has good play areas/ pools and bonus points if it’s close to a town/ village that DP can walk to and immerse himself in the culture as he hates AI 😆 not really fussed on where as long as the flight isn’t too long. Thank you!

What is your budget, including flights, and for how many nights in total?

BarbieKew · 02/04/2025 21:00

Why do you want AI if your husband hates it? Self catering means being able to eat wherever you want and have nice evening strolls to tire the toddler out!

Protur Safari Park or Zafiro hotels in Majorca

That probably would have been quite helpful info wouldn’t it! 7 nights and budget up to 2k including flights 😊

He planned last year’s holiday so it’s my turn this year. We did that last year but we’ve both had a very hectic time lately so thought AI would be more relaxing if we didn’t have to think where to eat etc!

Ha I came on to say exsctly the same. We had 3 amazing proture holidays when mine were smaller, safari Park is best for that age but proture do everyhring oretty well.also recommend zafiro palma nova was there 2 years ago (not zafiro palace I've not been there and it's more pricey)

You, DP, and how many children of what age? (Should have asked before, sorry!)

If there are several children then 2K might be a bit of a squeeze.

Just the one child and she’s 2! Some do free child’s places so that would be good too

If you're looking at Majorca, the Protur and Zafiro hotels mentioned by PP are nice, but can be quite pricey. With a 2yo you will be paying for 3 return air fares and presumably at least 2 return checked bags, so probably close to £800, leaving £1200 for the AI. £170/night is €200, that's more like low-end 4* prices from what I can see.

Also you won't always be near somewhere for DP to "immerse himself in the culture" — the less touristy towns (Portocolom, Puerto Pollensa, Puerto Soller) don't have much in the way of AI hotels. Your budget will go further in Calas de Mallorca or Sa Coma, but they are both fairly culture-free. However, if you find something within your price range in Palma Nova then it's quite a short bus ride to Palma, which is a seriously impressive city.
