End of GCSEs teenage holidays

Evening, Is anyone allowing their teenager to go to holiday to celebrate finishing their GCSEs alone? We have another younger child so shouldn't take them out of school but wanted my eldest to benefit from the extra free time as a celebration of their hard work. Ideally would like something like volunteer work in a foreign country for a week or two. Any ideas? TIA

Does he have valuable skills that aren’t available in foreign countries, and which can be useful just for a week or two? If so, volunteering sounds great. If not, a straightforward holiday might be better.

We sent our son on a small teen camp post GCSE through Volunteer World. It was quite nerve wracking getting him to take the plane by himself but he had a brilliant time and I think it really broadened his horizons /increased independence. He befriended a bunch of Europeans (he was the only Brit!) and they are all planning to meet up again this summer : )

Volunteer World looks really good. Might consider it for myself!
