Cycling from Denmark to The Netherlands

DS & friends want to cycle this summer from Copenhagen to Amsterdam but are struggling with options to get their own bikes to Denmark. Looked at trains / flying & couriering bikes but doesn't seem to be an easy option.

Anybody know the best way to travel with 3 bikes from London to Denmark please?

You can normally fly with bikes as checked luggage. On BA it’s free. Ryanair charges. They have to be boxed or bagged. You can buy or hire a proper bike box, but the cheapest option is to go to a bike shop and ask for one of the cardboard boxes that new bikes are delivered in. They’re generally happy to give them away for free as they’ll just be binning them anyway. Front wheel off, pedals off, handlebars loosened and turned lengthways. Seal the box up with parcel tape. Son bins it when he gets to Denmark.

Husband had no difficulty booking ferry tickets with bike on the Hull to Rotterdam ferry in 2020... He didn't go in the end as Covid struck but there was no problem with the booking. Getting to Copenhagen may be more difficult!

Flixbus is a good option for long distance travel in Europe with bikes but the slots fill up quickly so availability at be limited.

Can you drive or is the bike a one way trip? Then take the train back? Mega easy to drive to the Netherlands.

@Rainingalldayonmyhead unfortunately it's time constrained to a one way trip only. There's not even time, apparently , to cross to Rotterdam and then take the train to start the ride in Copenhagen as the train is not direct and that will take a whole day travelling from their schedule.
