Mexico Hotels

Fly and flop, late December, adults only, good gym, bars, restaurants, nice beach, good pools, clean rooms. Anyone been to a hotel like that recently?
It would be me and DH and our young adult sons x 2.
Lots of choice but reviews lead you down such a rabbit hole so wondered if MN hive mind could help.

Avoid riu tequila. Lovely hotel but I got food poisoning and they were very unhelpful!

Hyatt centric playa del carmen was amazing !
We stayed on the central one - but they have a location on the each
too (beach house I think it’s called)

Paradisus cancun was lovely - nice beach, delicious barbecues at night, saxophonist by the pool- it was amazing!

Argh sorry to hear this.... So many trip advisor reviews saying they got ill in a Mexico hotel...

We stayed in Dreams Tulum. Good choice of restaurants, beach was a bit limited, gym, choice of pools.
Nice enough but not sure it was worth the drive on the crazy road.

We stayed at El Dorado Royale last year. It was amazing. All the restaurants are Alacarte. You can use the facilities at two other hotels on the same site (Casita's and Generations). There are quiet pools and busy pools. Great night time entertainment with shows and a disco after. Really excellent. You can find it on TUI.
