Self-catering in Praia da Rocha, Portugal

Does anyone know of any nice self-catering apartments in Portimão / Praia da Rocha in Portugal?

A friend booked through AirB&B last year which seems like a minefield of choice and can be hit and miss. Praia da Rocha seems to have very few hotel apartments via the travel sites Tui, Thomas Cook, Love Holidays, Easyjet etc but they are not very nice!

Am I missing something here as I thought the travel sites would have lots to choose from?

We always book through vrbo and have always had great stays. The reviews are usually pretty accurate.
What I would say, though, is that we booked last September to go in August this year, so you may well find you need to compromise a bit now.
