Like Wengen, but not Wengen…

DH and I are thinking about next years family summer holiday, we loved Wengen a few years ago and would definitely go again but wonder if there’s some where similar but different!

We loved the easy access to the mountains and family walking routes; the outdoor swimming pool, restaurants with good
childrens options, car free village was a bonus.

The only downside was the length of time on the train - 4 trains from Zurich taking around 4 hours!

Any alternatives? Or should we just go to Wengen again!

Arosa?

The most scenic train ride as well.

I’ve stayed at Boningen just outside Interlaken. Has great access to many walking areas and is a great base. I was going to say Zermatt but it’s also remote!

Saas Fee (although that is also a trek), Engelberg, lake Lucerne, Flims/Laax or in Austria Seefeld , St Anton/Lech

Saas Fee is amazing. St Moritz beautiful too

Seefeld - direct trains from Innsbruck and Munich.

I’d also say Saas-Fee. Look at the WellnessHostel4000. It’s not your average hostel.

Personally I would go to Wengen again but in that area there is also Grindelwald. Or Zermatt is another option.
