I have a week in June free and was thinking of New England, where would be the best place to fly into ( I am coming form Bermuda) and what are the must see areas.I was intending to hire a car.

I have been to NE a few times and it's lovely. We flew into Boston and drove up to Vermont which I absolutely love. Another time we went to Boston, then Cape Cod and then Maine.

Think it depends what kind of experience you're after. One thing you could do is split your holiday and do a week in somewhere like Vermont and a week in Maine/Cape Cod to get a bit of coast.

Love it . First time (Autumn) we flew to Boston went up to Kennebunkport ME over to Jackson NH and along the Kancamangus highway, past Mount Washington to Woodstock VT then down Cape Cod. We had about 2 weeks though. Second time skiing in NH again flew to Boston.

Wow I didn't realise there were so many good places. Thanks everyone I'm going to start planning and see how much I can fit in as I can only go for a week.

I used to live there - there are a few MNers in that area.

If you fly to Boston, you can spend a few days there and on Cape Cod (Whale Watching is fab) as well as driving through NE.

Have fun!

I'm in Boston

I love New England, and have travelled a fair bit round this region, so just ask if you want to know anything!

We were in New England last summer. We flew into Boston and hired a car there. We then drove down to Cape Cod for a few days for a family reunion then up to northern Vermont.

There is lots of history in Boston (but would avoid a car if based there), and lots of scenery elsewhere.
