FCDO travel advice Turkey

We are due to travel to Antalya in Turkey next week with Jet2. FCDO now advising against all travel. What happens in this situation? Will Jet 2 offer an alternative destination? Do we claim via travel insurance? Does that even cover FCDO advice? Gutted. We were so looking forward to it.

Yes you are covered.

jet 2 will offer you an alternative or refund.

Are you sure? As far as I can see they're only advising against all travel to the border with Syria, not the whole of Turkey. That will not affect your holiday.

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 24/03/2025 20:01

I’ve only seen FCDO advises against all travel within 10km of the Turkey-Syria border. Is there something I’ve missed? I’m going to Side in 8 weeks

Cactiiii · 24/03/2025 20:01

Your holiday is fine as PP said, it’s only the border with Syria. Have fun.

That warning has been in place a while I think. Most of Turkey is fine.

imtherebutimnotthere · 24/03/2025 20:09

That’s been in place for at least 15yrs if not longer

I think the latest issues are only in Istanbul and Ankara. Antalya should be OK.

It's only the red bit where FCO advises against all travel.

Antalya is nowhere near.

I totally read that wrong. Thought it said all travel to all parts of Turkey. Need to check my glasses or go back to school!!! Thank you

The advice, dated today, says:

"Warning FCDO advises against all travel to parts of Turkey."

"parts of Turkey", not the whole of Turkey.
