October half term recommendations

I was thinking either Cyprus or Turkey for October half term this year, but happy to go anywhere as long as it’ll be warm enough to swim etc. Budget around 8k for the week for 2 adults 1 child, would like AI, family friendly and ideally a swim up room. Any recommendations please?

Dubai for proper warmth. Pools in Turkey will be getting cold

Canaries? 8k is a good budget! What about hard rock in tenerife?

I hadn’t considered Dubai. Will have a look, thanks.

I think Crete would also be a better option than Turkey as it’s lower down in the med. Cyprus as well just not sure on pool temps at either of those!

I’m not a fan of the hard rock, thought it was overpriced and mediocre and the food was disappointing

I hadnt considered the Canaries, will take a look at the weather there in October.

We went to Crete last October. It was nice, fine for sunbathing, day trips but I was too cold to swim although the kids were fine.

Been to Cyprus and Turkey (Fethiye area) at that time. Sea was much warmer than the pools. So I’d choose somewhere with a nice sheltered bay/beach area if you want to swim.

The weather was better in Turkey (actually it was glorious) but I think we were lucky that year, suspect they are equal in terms of chance of sun and warmth. Crete is a bit more risky.

Marrakech is another option if you don’t mind forgoing the sea - lots of pool based resorts outside the city now.
