Multi generational holiday activities

Hi,

we are off on our first multi generational holiday in May to Portugal. We have two teens, 13&14 and my parents will be joining us from another European country.

My parents are 75+ and becoming quite elderly and limited in what they can do. As in, long walks are out of the question etc.

we have hired a villa close-ish to the beach. We will have it semi-catered so we can all relax.

Now, just wondering if anyone has some previous experience and suggestions for things we can do that could suit all of us.

I get it that there will be plenty of opportunities where they will watch us do things, surfing lessons, kicking a ball around etc. But any suggestions of nice bonding moments with grandparents would be ace.

I will bring some board games but the kids(and grandparents) only have so many games in them before everything is boring.

thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Divide into two groups and see who can complete an identical crossword or sudoku the quickest?

Trip to watch a live performance like theatre... Just involves sitting down

Maybe you could hire a guide to take you all around on a tour by minibus?

Having a jigsaw on the go for quiet times

Personally I would love some sort of class or activity where i was taught Portuguese cookery e.g. to learn to cook a classic dish or cake that I could make back at home.. maybe you could have a teacher come to the villa?

Are there any historical places or similar ‘attractions’ to visit? Galleries / castles / zoo / museum?

Boat trip / dolphin watching

I think I would encourage everyone to do what they want. If others want to join they can but otherwise can do something different. Then come together at meal times and you will all have tales to tell.
In the evening after eating I would do board games or group games.
