“Country club” type hotels that are great with kids?

Looking to stay somewhere for a long weekend in the spring with my husband and two upper-primary aged children.

We’re not going over half term. Last year we stayed in a country club, almost by accident. But it was great! There was tennis and swimming and nice hikes and playgrounds.

Can anyone recommend a place like that we could stay at this time? Maybe three hours from London? (Or slightly more for a really fun place!)

I think the Four Seasons in Hampshire is child friendly. If not cheap.
There might be something nice in the New Forest.

Chewton Glen in the New Forest is lovely.

Both look great but are definitely out of my budget!

Celtic Manor on the way to Cardiff. Lovely pool & spa with lots of kids activities like high ropes, archery etc but also a lovely hotel with a few different restaurants.

And they do have special offers.
