Ancient Roman towns in Europe

A friend and I are currently having a great time being ancient Roman history geeks in Rome. We’ve agreed we’ll definitely do something similar again.

Where are the best towns in mainland Europe for seeing ancient Roman stuff (our technical term)?

Trier's great, you could also go to Echternach in Luxembourg which is really close to Trier. It's the oldest town in Luxembourg and has roman ruins just outside.
