Any ideas?

I’m looking at any ideas for a holiday for myself and my 12 year old son. I’ve always been a bit reluctant to hire a car when abroad but may consider as I’d like us to have an adventure! I’ve always stuck to a package holiday, I’d be ok doing the same but wanted to venture out more. Have any of you got any good ideas of where we could holiday? South of France? Croatia? Switzerland? Thanks

Me and my 13 year old are booked to go to Dubai next month. There’s loads to do there for that age group 🙂

Switzerland is amazing. Expensive though.
we flew to Zurich. Then got train from there to lauterbrunner and stayed in the eurocamp. Trains used to explore for the week. There are a couple of nice outdoor pools, one in wengen and one in lauterbrunnen villages. And the cable cars and trains are really fun.

Also there is a walk from lauterbrunnen eurocamp to trummelbach falls which is really cool

You could go somewhere with good public transport if you're reluctant to drive, plus go on organised day tours.

What sorts of things do you like to do and are you wanting hot weather?

Try Cyprus, they drive on the same side of the road as we do so it’s not as daunting. Lots of places to visit there, mountains with lovely villages, historical sites etc.

My 12yo really wants to go to Area 47 in Austria. There’s accommodation on-site so could be quite a straightforward holiday.

Go interrailing around some European cities. The trains abroad always seem cleaner and more efficient than in the UK. You could get a map and plan it together, it would be very easy to do.
