Winter Sun Destinations (December)

I'm looking for some inspiration for a winter sun holiday post Christmas.

Ideally looking for 10 to 14 days. 2 adults, 1 teen, and a 3 year old.

We'd like a dual centre I think, perhaps flying into a city then out to a beach destination.

We would ideally like a direct flight for the first leg.

Considering Asia or South/Central America currently but open to others too - any ideas?

If you wanted to go somewhere closer to home, you could go on a Canary Islands and Morocco Cruise. Spending the first few days in Casablanca and then travelling around the islands. As you have children make sure you are on the islands on 5/6 January, as Spain celebrates the Three Kings Festival featuring street parades, traditional food, music and fun. Temperatures may not be hot enough for you thou.

Puerto Vallarta on the west coast of Mexico. Fantastic weather, loads to explore and it's Humpback breeding season - so whales, orca, stingray, dolphins. There are so many wahles that you can even see them from the shore, but loads of boat trips (do ensure that they are properly licensed and sustainable - this ensures the health and safety of the whales!!)

We just got back from India (see my "AMA" thread in this forum) and would return in a heartbeat. So have a look at Goa, maybe flying in and out of Mumbai. Really good five-star hotels are not expensive, nor are internal flights. A 33cl bottle of beer on the beach in Goa costs £1.

The carribean, you can do dual islands. We're considering doing St Lucia and Guadeloupe, there's ferries between them but some islands have LIAT flights.
