Temperatures in Dubai in May

Does anyone know what the temperature would be in May in Dubai? Thinking of going in early May but not sure if it would be too warm - we both like to lie in the sun and are fine with places like Spain in the height of the summer, went to the Canaries last year in September when it was 30+. However, some websites say Dubai could get up to 40 or so which feels too much - any lived experiences of Dubai in May?

May is when the temperature starts to ramp up but in early May it should be a little cooler than at the end.

We have been to Dubai at the end of May/early June twice and we find it just about bearable. The hottest day we have ever had at that time was 42 degrees in 2022, most days were 35-38ish which we can cope with. We will be in Abu Dhabi same time this year. We have also been in August, I would NOT recommend that and we have a high heat tolerance.

Depending on your heat tolerance and as long as you take all sensible precautions you should be perfectly fine for lazing about by the pool and enjoying water based activities. There is lots to do indoors too.

May will be erm, warm. Everything is air conditioned. The pools are chilled. It’s also a very dry heat which helps.

I grew up in ME, late June July is time to get out for a while.

Hot. Best times for Dubai are around November to March. It isn't pleasant when the temp starts getting too high.

That said, everywhere is air-conned and if you are spending the day at the beach or by water it does feel a bit cooler.

May is a gorgeous time for Dubai but it does really ramp up. We were in Ras last May and was almost 40 each day. Early May will be lush. May half term probably the last week I’d go until September!

You’ll be fine I think in early May if you like the heat. I was there in July once, pregnant and with a 2yo. Clearly not ideal but we managed just fine. Had to be there for various reasons. Pools were great. Sea was too hot! What I found most difficult was not really being able to sit out in the evening - it was really sweaty and muggy.

There’s a reason why all the rich Dubai residents have houses in London……
