Do aparthotels still exist

Looking for an aparthotel so can do our own meals but have the facilities of a hotel, pools, bar etc… Not sure what I’m doing wrong with Google as can’t find any. Do these still exist? France, Italy, Greece, Croatia, all ok.

I find them on Hotels.com quite often, there is a filter to tick.

zebrapig · 12/03/2025 20:49

There's normally lots of choice if you search for self catering options

Thank you @Summerhillsquare so long since I booked a package holiday I think I’ve forgotten how !

Seth Mestral & Llebeig in Santo Tomas Menorca is halfboard and has cooking facilities including an oven.

Yes, loads in the Balearics, we stay in this type of accommodation a lot. Also Lanzarote has bungalow complexes so you get a small self contained unit with kitchen etc with your own terrace that's suitable for a couple or small family but there's also a pool and maybe a restaurant.

You could try looking on Jet2 or Easyjet holidays, for the names of hotels even if you don't end up using them to book.

Very easy to find in the Austrian Alps - look on the usual sites (airbnb, booking.com, VRBO etc) or the Tourist Office websites for the individual resorts.

That a so much for all the suggestions. I’ve now managed to find far more via your links and suggestions that I’d found via Google!!

Bonaire aparthotel , Cala Bona in Majorca was nice when we went a few years ago .

zebrapig · 13/03/2025 22:03

@loveev We've stayed at the Bonaire too, I liked it there and there's a lot of choice of restaurants if you don't want to cook.

We’ve just been to Cordial Playa in Gran Canaria and had a 2 bed apartment but use of all hotel facilities.

It was recommended on here actually and we had a fabulous week.

The Citadines hotels have a small kitchen area. I would stay with them again.

We recently stayed for a week in an "aparthotel" near Geneva (but on the French side) and while it was a very good value hotel room, the kitchen area was ridiculously tiny. Fortunately we were visiting friends and so we didn't need to cook, but basically all you could have done was heat up a tin of soup. It was a shame as there were plenty of decent pots/pans/utensils, but the cooking bit was in a cupboard right next to the bed.

On the other hand, a couple of years ago we stayed just a couple of nights in a nice aparthotel in Portocolom (Majorca) and the kitchen/dining area was huge and beautifully equipped. There was only one bedroom, but a family of 4 with two adjoining rooms could have had an excellent self-cooking holiday there. We were only there because we wanted the room bit, so the facilities didn't get much use, but we made a note of it because it was such good value: maps.app.goo.gl/ZhmAS4pxXsmWP5Fh8

We have stayed at this one in Crete. We may have been the only guests from the UK.
