Any tips on how to make the most of a trip to Egypt in 2025, from the best time to visit to must-see places and experiences?

I did one a few years before Covid. It was absolutely amazing but bloody exhausting too. I became a bit "templed out" coming towards the end, but that was a small price to pay.

I was in Ireland then and used a group travel company there. The whole thing was brilliant. So that's not helping you if you are in UK, but I think most packages are similar.

Flight to Cairo via Amsterdam.
one day in Cairo saw the famous museum and a bit of city life. So crowded and the noise! but so different.

Overnight train to Aswan from Cairo. That was hilarious. Had a two bunk carriage with my friend, but the loo was down the corridor. Basic but great fun, as the Irish group just partied all night with singing etc.

Aswan and all the temples and temples and temples. Do try and read up before you go to get the most out of it.

Then Nile cruise (fantastic) from Aswan to Luxor. Fabulous.

Coach to Hurghada for a bit of "non temple" R+R. Wasn't mad about the place but it was a chance for a bit of a rest.

Coach back to Cairo and music and light show at the Pyramids + other sightseeing stuff there.

Flight home. Exhausted.
