I am going insane trying to choose.

need a big pool, beach in walking distance that we can snorkel in preferably, nice town for eating out. Not too brits abroad, but still plenty tourist shops for inflatables etc

Have only been to Majorca before. Dh and I have never done any package trips at all other than that. So we have no experience of Spain, Turkey, Greece etc and really struggling to choose

Lanzarote, Playa Blanca area

Budget? Hotel? Self catering? That might help people advise. Are you keen on med or open to other options?

Radiatorvalves · 10/03/2025 22:06

And when are you intending to go?

MorrisZapp · 10/03/2025 22:06

Majorca, it's perfect for this, and a reasonable flight duration

Toppl · 10/03/2025 22:08

Budget probably 6k
keen for a shorter flight, so that’s why we though the med.
going in july

we have been going round in circles for so long trying to decide

I took my teenage boys to Portugal. We had an apartment with a pool, walking distance to the beach and plenty of bars and restaurants. They especially enjoyed it when we accidentally went to a naturist beach. 😂

Toppl · 10/03/2025 22:09

probably prefer half board so can eat out in local town sometimes

we did love Majorca and would consider going back. But does anyone have any good recommendations? We only been to puerto pollensa. But would prefer maybe more of a cove next time

Where was this? Which town?

Alghero on Sardinia. Lovely people, beautiful beaches and cheaper than the glitzy east coast.

We have looked at this as an option. But wasn’t sure how nice the beach was in the town?

Ibiza. Es Cana or Santa Elulia. Absolutely not Bulgaria.

I would go to Nielson with teenage boys. All activities included, something for everyone. Some evening meals included, others not so you can go enjoy the local food.

Cala d'Or will hit the spot for snorkeling.

Or if you want a smaller place then Cala San Vicente, but then you would probably want to take the bus or car to other places from time to time to have a variety of places to eat, unless you go at least half board. It's just round the corner from Puerto Pollensa (you can actually hike across the hill if you're feeling adventurous).

Edited

We actually loved Cala San vincente. Took a taxi there twice when we were in puerto pollensa. Much preferred it to the beach in puerto pollensa
