you know when you fill in a travel insurance form,do you put the travel dates as from the day you leave the house up to the day you arrive back?

Provided it doesn't push you into another price bracket, I always add 48 hours on to the return date in case your flight/ferry is cancelled etc

Yes, as the most likely time for luggage to go astray is on the journey
