We are going to Portugal in July (2 couples, we have a toddler, the other couple have no children). The plan is to fly into Lisbon and spend a few days there before taking a train down to the Faro region to do a few days in a resort. Does this sound like a good plan? How family friendly is Lisbon? Can anyone recommend any accommodation in either place? Particularly any decent Faro resorts (that won't break the bank...)

If you're wanting a hotel in Lisbon, the Moxy is good and has a nice outdoor pool Moxy Lisbon City, Lisbon (updated prices 2025). The city is very family friendly.

Have you had a look at Cascais, it's only about 30 minutes outsyds Lisbon but a beautiful beach area.
