San Francisco surprise ideas?

I've book a surprise trip for DH to Sf for his 50th over the Easter holidays - I was planning on keeping it secret until we were on our way to the airport, but he's 50 on Saturday and I think I'll burst if I don't tell him then.
I want to put together a little box of clues but I've left this very late ...
I have got a rock (Alcatraz) and the car from the film Bullit (?), any ideas what else I can put in? Thank you!

That's absolutely brilliant. I love your clues. Trying to think of a bridge one but other than sabotaging a violin that I would mysteriously have lying around, I'm not sure.

A foghorn
A cable car (toy)
Seal
Fortune cookie or maneki-neko or chopsticks to represent Chinatown

Patti Hearst was arrested in San Francisco in 1975 - fact linking the city and your DH

to me iconic images of sf would be golden gate bridge if you can't have a bridge (make one with lego) a orange gate? a tram, the lgbt pride flag, the 49'ers

A copy of Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin.

Great idea! Did you know you'll need some warm clothes? It can get very cold in SF, I've been a couple of times and despite wearing hoodies and a light jacket I still got cold sometimes. So if he doesn't know where he's going you might have to supervise his packing!

Clue suggestions are great. A baseball? A tin of clam chowder?

Ooh just realised it's tomorrow. Hope he is made up! I really liked San Francisco. Some people just don't get the vibe, but we liked it enough to go back to see the sights we missed first time round. It's got real personality, a great travel experience, I'm very jealous!
