Majorca - help me

Would appreciate any recommendations. Husband and I are lucky enough to have the chance to go away for 5 nights without the kids in May. We’re set on Majorca but not sure on which part to stay at. We don’t do a lot of culture or walking around on holiday, we go away to eat, drink and relax by the pool or on the beach. As long as we have our kindles and a drink in hand we’re happy. Any suggestions please?

Cala D'or is lovely- lots of nice resturants

If it's just beach then Alcudia has a lovely stretch with plenty of places to eat there or in the old town a short walk away. This also hosts a large weekly market. Easy to get to by bus from the airport. Puerto Pollensa also has a nice stretch of beach and shops/restaurants.

Cala D'Or has lots of little cove beaches that are just beautiful, so that would be my choice.

There was a thread about Mallorca a week or so ago. I’ll see if I can find it for you

Anyway, I agree about Cala D’Or and P Pollensa

I live in Pollenca. The port is lovely and quite family friendly though I would say alcudia has a bigger beach and is livelier. Both have lots of restaurants so that isn’t an issue.

I quite often sit in a hotel area by the pine walk in summer with my kindle people watching. you get more Brits at this end of the island.

Me and DH are going on a 4 day trip by ourselves to Reverence Life Hotel in Santa Ponsa. Looks lovely from what I can see with a beach and plenty of bars and restaurants

Port de Soller would be my choice for a couples holiday

Thank you for all the replies, very helpful. Has anyone been to Playa de Muro? We think we’ve found the hotel that fits what we’re looking for and it seems to be a quieter area of the island.

Would Majorca be warm enough for a pool holiday in May?
We once went end of June and it was quite chilly some of the time.

InMyMNEra · 05/03/2025 08:56

@rookiemere I think anywhere in Europe in May is always a risk

Puerto Pollensa

Illa d’Or Hotel is our go to hotel for those exact reasons lol
