Me and dh want to go to Greece in August for 4 nights. We'd like somewhere with beautiful beaches, not mad nightlife but not too quiet, somewhere we can go for a walk to local restaurants. Thanks

Palaiokastritsa in Corfu
Fiskardo, Assos or Agia Efimia in Kefalonia

Before you ask for recommendation have you check where suitable flights are to.?
If it's Athens you'll get different recommendations from Corfu , Rhodes or Crete. Some flights are weekly so won't be suitable

I second Palaiokastritsa, it's gorgeous but you have to be ok with hills and very few pavements, restaurants are a little more spread out.

I love Corfu, the east coast has so many spots, Ipsos, Dassia, Gouvia but Corfu town is just stunning.

Kassiopi, to the north, is another great place.

Rhodes old town, or just outside if it, is a great spot too.

Corfu. Anywhere on the east coast, Paleokastritsa or just to be different we quite like St George’s south, lots of choice of places to eat and lake Korission right behind it where you can see the wild flamingos, nice beach too, but the south of the island isn’t quite as picturesque as the north.

if you only want a beach and places to eat Lourdata in Kefalonia is lovely. Lassie is also very popular and a bit busier.

we’re off to almyrida in Crete this year. Not been yet so can’t recommend but from what I’ve read it may also fit the bill. We’ve also stayed in salida in Crete. It was definitely more touristy but not a wild night life and a great choice of places to eat and wander around.
