Based on our prime minister going to the America seemingly only staying there one day so was wondering have you ever done something like that?

A school annual trip. I was on the coach that got lost on the way to a safari park. 1 hour trip took 4 odd hours. Got to the park, supervised the dc for an hour or so then back on the coach for the agreed exit time. Had to then wait for some parents and dc to get back to coach in dribs and drabs. Got back to the school to all the cats bum faces of the waiting parents. Awful day.

Flew from Heathrow to Edinburgh and got a hire car. In to Edinburgh city centre for a meeting then drove to Aberdeen for another meeting. Back to Glasgow for yet another meeting then dropped the car off at Prestwick to fly back. That was a loooong day.

30 hours in Perth, Australia for 3 hours of work. Economy all the way.
I've been to the US for 24 hours a few times, inc once where due to delays I got to the hotel at 5am, had a few hours sleep, did a presentation at 10, left to the airport again at 3.

Doncaster to The isle of Sheppey for a birthday party.

Cornwall to Aberdeen for a 6 hour work thing. Took a lot longer to get there than I was actually there.

Flew from Heathrow to Atlanta, with a just turned 3 year old (travelling alone) and stayed 24 hours before heading back. Yes I am crazy and yes it was fine. The month previous to this I'd flown to Malaysia with him (23 hour journey with layover) so I think he took the 8 hour flight in his stride 😆

I once flew Sydney to the UK and back for a family wedding, spent approx 60 hours in the UK. I slept a lot on the plane both directions, but it was still exhausting.

Dubai for two nights and flew there and back overnight

Scotland to Wales and back in one day for a family funeral (was really there representing my parents who couldn't travel that far, i hardly knew the deceased). We arrived far too early and managed to have a walk round wherever it was to make it feel like a holiday 😆.

A day trip to India, not out of choice but because our outward flight from LHR was subject to a long delay due to fog. Fortunately we were going on to Hong Kong and Bangkok so still had a holiday. Shame to have missed the Taj Mahal though.

I went to Dublin from London for lunch/a date. Flew out in the morning and back home in the evening. Was fun.
