Mauritius in January

Thinking of booking Mauritius in January. Done a google search regarding weather and it's apparently ok. Don't mind a bit of rain but not everyday. Has anyone been in Jan and could recommend?
Also says East coast hotels are best, looking for something special. Any recommendations please?

We went 2 years ago in January and it rained continuously for the first 36 hours and had done so for the previous 3 days but then we had glorious weather of the rest of the fortnight. We stayed in the NW of the Island in a beautiful resort - Trou Aux Biches Resort

My last trip was end of December / early January and we had about 3 rainy days out of 14. It was also not a full day of rain - a few hours then the sun would come out again. It’s not wet season, so it should be fine.
