Weymouth holiday probably Warmwell or maybe Waterside Holiday Camp at Bowleaze Cove

Hello has any one been to either of these especially during summer school holidays when busy. Bowleaze beach seems nearest but shingles so wondering if takes long to get into Weymouth. I know there is a park and ride there. If anyone been to either would love some info on the swimming pools, general view of the place and on rough cost of activities too. I know Warmwell has a ski run no idea what that costs for example. Lots of places to visit along Jurassic coast but just concerned about traffic in August? Thank you. Every bit of info useful!

Warmwell is in the middle of nowhere.
Bowleaze cove (don't know about the actual holiday park itself) is a couple of miles from the middle of Weymouth - I think you can walk along the seawall right into town. Weymouth beach itself is lovely, beautiful sand, shallow sea... I learned to swim there when I was tiny.
As I live in the area (I am halfway between there and Bournemouth) I don't know about the facilities at the holiday parks themselves but basically Warmwell is way out in the sticks and Bowleaze isn't.
Traffic is OK when you are in the area, but travelling down here at weekends can be very bad especially via the M3, M27 and A31. There are no motorways in Dorset 😁

Warmwell was where I had one of my first holiday jobs in the '80s. They had a pool with a wave machine, which i assume is still there, but don't know. It's not really walking distance to anywhere, though.

Bowleaze (and all the way along to Greenhill) is shingle, but if you go out far enough into the water, it's sandy underfoot. Can be good for fossils at Bowleaze, too.

They've just done up the seawall, at least at the Greenhill end. It's a nice walk into Weymouth town in dry weather, and the other side of the road is mostly a nature reserve.

As mentioned, traffic can be bad in summer.

You can presumably Google for current prices.

cant give any info about the holiday paris as never stayed. But go to bowleaze often.

it’s shingle but it’s sand under foot in the sea. There a few places to eat there and a harvester between there and Weymouth. You can walk to Weymouth along the front. Weymouth has lots to do. The usual arcades, donkeys on the beach, road rides and pedalo hire on the beach.

the sea life centre in Weymouth is good for kids. I don’t know the price as not been for years but there are often discounts available. There’s also crazy golf and lots of other stuff. Sea is very safe and shallow at the town end of Weymouth. It gets a bit deeper more quickly at bowleaze but then levels out and stays about waist height for ages. If you get a rainy day there are lots of museums and an old fashioned cinema in Dorchester which is about a 20 minute drive from Weymouth. The town of Weymouth itself is a bit meh. But the sea front is good and Dorchester is a nice little town not far away.

traffic getting into Weymouth is likely to be fairly busy in high season but not a total nightmare.

The bus into Weymouth runs from Bowleaze Cove fairly frequently and there is a service that runs from inside waterside twice an hour.

There is a little fun fair in Bowleaze Cove, I absolutely loved it and it's reasonably priced too. Waterside have a chip shop and a restaurant and a few other eateries too.

There are at least two playgrounds there. The swimming pools are quite nice and you don't have to book a space to attend.

I promise I don't work there, I've had a few nice holidays there in the past 40 years!

when we stayed at waterside the bus came right through the park and virtually stopped outside our lodge!
It is really nice. Bowleaze cove is nice and Weymouth beach lovely. The park is very well run and the area by the beach with bars and food has a lovely play area for kids.
there is a small funfair at Bowleaze cove which is much cheaper than rides at Weymouth.

Warmwell is too isolated really. Don't know Bowleaze. What bout West Bay?

Have stayed at warmwell and at haven seaview just up from waterside, walk down through it to get to bowleaze. Both nice, Weymouth proper is lovely, great beach, plus can gor to abbotsbury etc. I rate warmwell, agree it's not right on stuff but is a great site, pretty and lots of accommodation right in the trees which we liked. One of our kids did tubing on the ski slope, wasn't crazy expensive. Good pool I think. Also really rate. Big carpark in Weymouth and didn't find traffic too bad. Agree aquarium was good. Have done lots of parkedeans at various times, favourite is Ruda by croyde bay.
