Where are your favourite spots?

Beaches, restaurants, markets...?

We much preferred Costa Teguise than Playa Blanca. Nicer beaches, better atmosphere

Playa Blanca for me. You'll get others coming on to say Puerto del Carmen etc.
Depends what kind of holiday you're looking for.

We love Playa blanca as a lot quieter and good for young families , we’ve explored more of the island though. We hire a car and explore, places too see:
Los Volcanes - national park , Timanfaya national park, mirador el risco, cactus gardens.
Costa Teguise is lovely too, similar to playa blanca but bigger and a lot winder!
Puerto del carmen wasn’t my cuppa tea, not the type of holiday we were going away for.

Can I ask a question of those in the know, are there particular areas that are quieter, less very big resorts?

Defo playa Blanca. Nice and quiet but still things to do and you can hire a car/get trips. Can’t get to the north of the island to see a lot of nice things as it’s too far away. As others say it depends what you want.

We stayed in a villa in Tias & had a hire car. Very easy to get around.

We really enjoyed Costa Teguise, we haven't been to Playa Blanca (it's on our list of future places to stay). Puerto del Carmen was a bit too busy for us but had great beaches and the hotel was amazing.

We loved Jablilo beach in Costa Teguise and enjoyed feeding the fish and its lovely and sheltered. We had some lovely meals and the best ice cream ever from an ice cream parlour near the Barcelo hotel. My kids loved it and we were tempted to return to Teguise this year but are going to Gran Canaria.

Playa Flamingo, we stayed at the Tui Blue there and really liked it.
Visit Timanfaya of course, Lagomar Museum, it's like a James Bond Lair. There are lots of Cesar Manrique places to visit, I liked the Cacti garden best.

I don’t like Costa Teguise at all. Playa Blanca is nicer than PDC. I love the Matagorda area myself.

Can I ask which hotel you stayed at in Puerto Del Carmen? We’ve been there before in villas but looking for a hotel to go to next year with two little ones.

@Electricfeels We stayed at Aqua Suites Boutique Hotel in Puerto Del Carmen (booked via Jet2). It is a lovely hotel and has amazing food, great little kids club and there is another small kids pool around the back of the hotel. It has excellent trip advisor reviews.
