Rome-hotel with some self catering

Hi MNetters ! We hope to go for a holiday to Rome with my 18 month old this spring. Bit confused about managing his meals-would like a hotel with a breakfast buffet and a restaurant but worry about DC not eating and being cranky so hoping for a place that offers a tiny kitchen (thinking of making some brekky/dinner and doing other meals outside). Are there budget/mid range places that offer both options ? What’s the best way to manage meals on holiday for an 18 month old ?

I would just get an air b n b or go elsewhere in this situation with a toddler and go to Rome when they are older and you and they can get more out of it.
