Cheaper to pay cc or bank transfer?

Hi, I’m booking direct with a property company in Australia for holiday rental. I have the option of paying using credit card or bank transfer. I’m trying to dig down to all the charges and exchange rates but it’s not obvious at all! Has anyone done this before And got a good way of doing it? We do have a Revolut card but our bank account and credit card is with Royal Bank Of Scotland.

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

Use a credit card. There are consumer protections attached.

Yeah, this.

Credit card much safer so I would do that regardless of charges

Definitely use a credit card, but use one with near perfect exchange rates. It's the cheapest way to pay and has the extra protection you get with a credit card. See Martin Lewis's web site for examples. (I use Halifax Clarity but there are other options).

I always pay holidays on interest free credit cards then put the money into an easy access savings account to get a bit extra!
