Booked Corfu for 9 days over Easter. Mosquitos? + any advice?

Hello! Very last minute booking for various reasons, but we've ended up booking flights to Corfu for our family of 3. I've not booked us a place to stay yet, but I'm looking to do so shortly.

My current question is- are mosquitos active year-round? I'm guessing yes given all the mosquito netting I'm seeing in photos. (I ask because I am originally from a warm country and normally we only have them seriously in the summertime, much less so in the Spring)

Also, any recommendations? We've ended up with this booking based on it being the destination available from our local airport for the exact dates we were available to fly, so I'm sort of making it up as I go along.

We are landing on Good Friday which I know will mean everything will be shut, we've done this before and know we should pack some food to tide us over until we can find someplace which will be open.

Thanks so much for any advice 😊

I would take bug spray, I haven't been to Corfu in April, but my kids got bitten a lot in Malta at the end of March last year. For whatever reason my husband and I didn't really get bitten, despite sleeping in the same room, they clearly just taste better!

Mosquitos - hot wet days. Mostly in summer. Never had an issue at Easter. Too early.

I doubt if you'll see many mozzies in April as it won't be warm enough. Most tourist stuff will be closed but if our Easter coincides with the Greek Orthodox Easter (I haven't checked) there will be some things going on.

Thank you for the responses! We will pack our bug spray but hope for the best. We don't mind it being on the cool side, just looking forward to a change of scenery.

Orthox Easter is the same as ours this year. My parents used to go to Crete every year but when they were there for coinciding Easter they found most tavernas weren't open to the public, this may have changed, so the owner of the taverna they used invited them to the family meal
