New York? WHERE TO STAY? not too expensive please...apartment or hotel?

would really appreciate any advice.... we are going in December? whoopee!

I stayed with kids at radio city and would recommend it for families tho I wd like somewhere more luxurious if I am ever lucky enough to go there without children! Its v central and you get a sitting room with bedrooms off it, great for varying jetlag.

ooohhh i am going in 6 weeks, i am so so excited, i have started to make a plan up of where we will be going.

we are staying at the thirty thirty and was a little worried as i have heard some not so good things about it, but i hope it is ok
