Visiting Niagara Falls by coach from NYC...

We've got 8 nights in New York City this spring.

We would love to see Niagara Falls, but it's something like a 19 hour coach trip.

It is a once in a lifetime trip, so won't be back to this part of the world.

I did look at doing it by private helicopter/plane, but laughed it off at cost over £10,000! Coach trip is a couple of hundred pounds.

Not sure if we should add it onto the itinerary. Any suggestions/recommendations please.

It's only about 5 hours drive. Hire a car?

They are over 300 miles apart, so it’s quite a trek. The train would be more comfortable than the coach.

The one essential thing for Niagara Falls is the Maid Of The Mist, the boats that go to the base of the falls. Definitely a unmissable experience. The falls themselves are incredible.

The town, however, is basically Blackpool. Garish, tacky, bloody awful. It’s best to be prepared for that because it’s not what people expect.

I would fly from La Guardia to Buffalo and then rent a car for a day.

I've taken the train and it was about a 9 hour journey but lots of nice scenery on the way . It is a waste of a day though . I would definitely look at flying instead
