Hola, I am planning a three day trip to Santiago de Compostela, for museums, history, tapas and wine, more tapas and more wine. Does anyone have any recommendations of thing I shouldn't miss out on?? And any hotel recommendations - would be nice to have some luxury but nothing too extortionate.

Thank you x

My parents travelled to Santiago de Compostela a few years ago, and they loved it! I will ask them if they have any specific recommendations.

Ohh, I'd be grateful too! We're going in our campervan in April/May this year.

I am trying to remember but there was a palacio and a nice old town area. Definitely try the local almond cake. A day trip to Finisterre is worthwhile as well.

Hello again, now I have talked to my parents.
My parents were there for eight days, so they had a bit more time.

These are some the things that my parents recommend

  • The Cathedral (obviously)
  • The Market hall, Mercado de Abastos, in the Old Town.
  • Day trip by train to Pontevedra, smaller city by the coast
  • Day trip by bus to Fisterra/Finisterre

Mostly they just loved being in the city of Santiago de Compostela, walking around, it was a dream trip for them!

I hope you will have a lovely trip!
