Easyjet cabin baggage - help

Mikki77 · 12/02/2025 20:02

Yes I'm an idiot.
I can only take a cabin bag.
Easyjet dimensions 45 x 36 x 20 cm
BUT my bag is 38 x 30 x 25cm will this be OK or should I layer up on outfits?
Husband thinks it will be fine but I'm panicking......any advice 🙏

Is it a soft bag? They don't always check but if it's a busy flight they will, and you'll have to fit it into a "box" of the correct dimensions.

PlantDoctor · 12/02/2025 20:14

It's too wide and unless it's quite squishy you'll have to pay to check it if they discover it's too big.

I was shocked by how tiny their cabin bag size is! I found there are lots on Amazon guaranteed to be the right size (as long as they aren't packed to bulging)

Your bag is overall smaller than their maximum dimensions so it should be ok. It doesn’t have to match exactly and tbh, I’ve never had mine measured nor have I checked it in their measurement box. Never had issues.

Should be fine!

I've definitely seen people charged extra becuase their bag wouldn't fit.

It happened to a friend I was travelling with once and I was stopped recently because I was carrying a bag for my companion, who had paid for the larger bag. I'd picked it up to be helpful and forgotten it would matter on boarding.

Is it the underseat bag?
It will need to fit under the seat, so along as it squashes it will be fine.

The last couple of time I've flown with EasyJet they have made people put cabin bags in the luggage sizer and were being very strict about it. That was in September and October last year, at two different airports.

If your bag is soft you'll probably be ok as you'll be able to squeeze it to fit.

I have this bag https://cabinmax.com/collections/easyjet/products/metz-30-litre-cabin-backpack?variant=34928610017446

It's currently £30 on Amazon.

I have that bag too. It's really good.

I have the cabin max linked to above, and have been asked to fit it in the sizer by easyJet, which was a struggle as it was very full, until it fitted perfectly. DH got stopped with the same bag too, and they checked both even though they were identical bags. I’d never risk going with a bag I thought was too long or too wide now, although you might be ok with yours as long as it is not too full and you can squish it in the sizer.

if it’s all you’ve got, and you don’t have time to get another, and want to try, make sure it’s not over packed or bulging, in the hope that it doesn’t catch anyone’s eye at boarding.

TeenLifeMum · 12/02/2025 23:29

They are really really strict. If it is soft, make sure you can squish it but otherwise you’ll have to pay to check it in.

RatedDoingMagic · 12/02/2025 23:32

If it's squashy it will be fine. If it's rigid it won't be and you may have to pay a last minute fee for it to go in the hold. Cheaper to buy a bag of the right dimensions. The size is set for it to fit under the seat in front and there's only 20cm clearance so a rigid 25cm bag won't fit.
