Any suggestions, somewhere that would have a bit of entertainment/games/sports-good pools , we return to Palma Nova most years need to change it up. We like the sea there the promenade walks , water park and crazy golf and easy on a bus to Palma. Belfast Palma is always the cheapest flight deal for us.

Club Med for activities sounds amazing but a bit out of our price range. Some of the good Euro camps are so expensive in the summer too however open to these. It gets bit lonely just us two , so somewhere he can meet a few friend's.

I would love a bit of Culture. My ideal would be Seville however not just yet. Turkey Fethiye is on my radar.

We are back In Indonesia this year so this is for next year.

Travel from Belfast , we can do Dublin though too

Thanks

Have you tried a Mark Warner holiday?

I think cheaper than club med, but lots of kids and kids club type activity for 9 year old, based around sailing.

Really great for a bit of independence and learning a new skill.

Usually they have other activities you can do too - tennis etc.

There are plenty of nice places for days or half-days out in Majorca: Sa Bassa Blanca open-air museum, the Pueblo Espanol, Bellver castle, all kinds of other museums and exhibits in Palma, the train to Soller, the story of California in Petra... most of which you can get to by bus (although Sa Bassa Blanca would need a bus to Alcudia and then a €12 taxi ride).

If you can't persuade your DS to go along then maybe you can find a hotel with an all-day kids club where you can park him. Club Med is great for that, but their prices have more than doubled in real terms since we used to take DC there 25–30 years ago.

You can def go from airports other than Gatwick.

They are fun - very active, plenty to keep a 9 year old entertained and some new experiences too.

Club la Santa on Lanzarote if you like the look of Mark Warner - you book your accommodation with ClS which includes all activities on site but arrange your own flights and transfers (taxi from the airport is around 40 euro or you can hire a car) so it's a bit more flexible. Neilsons beach club are similar too but you book those as a package and I'm not sure any fly from Belfast.

From Belfast look at TUI for turkey. We stayed at TUI blue tropical in a small village called Sarigerme. We've been twice. We did the 12 island tour and turtle bay. Did the mud baths and a trip down Dalyan river. Stunning.

Came to suggest Lanzarote too- it has some beautiful architecture from Cesar Manrique and they don’t allow high rises so it’s not an overdeveloped eye sore like some places. The volcano is also fascinating to visit.

MiddleAgedDread · 15/02/2025 13:26

The advantage of clue La Santa is that you’re not booking as a package so could split your time between there and somewhere more on the tourist strip along the south of island for a few days with more sightseeing.
