Cheapest 2 week holiday for 2 adults in March (warm)

Really need a break. Not had a holiday for 2 years.

How do I find a cheap holiday somewhere warm in March? No kids.

Is a package cheaper? Or to get flights and book accomodation separate?

Wondering if a longhaul package somewhere cheap is good value compared to The Canaries (which I am assuming is the only warm place in Europe)?

Try Jet2 7 days Costa de Sol from £371. Includes transfer and hold luggage.
Searching their site will pull up more.

A package could be cheaper or booking separately could be cheaper, its impossible to say, I've seen both. The Canaries probably has the best chance of warm/hot but it's not guaranteed. Costa del Sol could also be decent but again not guaranteed.

Sometimes you can get incredibly cheap Ryanair flights plus one large bag between the two of you and a cheap apartment, and it will be hard to beat that with a package, especially if you can transfer on the public bus, which is possible as there's bus stops outside most airports to most resort towns in the Canaries. But then sometimes packages can be cheaper - it often depends on what's available for sale.

Canaries is generally cheapish to eat out especially if you combine with some easy food from the supermarket for some meals

Plus obviously it depends on what standard of accommodation you're looking for, and what your budget is. You just need to get searching on the package holiday deals pages and skyscanner/booking.com or similar. Be as flexible as possible with dates/locations etc for best chance of a deal.

What sort of budget do you have? It you're looking for a 'Fly and flop' holiday where you're just there to relax and sunbathe, turkey probably fits the bill.

try Madeira

Egypt will be warm in March and usually pretty cheap as it's not the most popular winter sun destination.

Whodrankmytea · 12/02/2025 12:46

Tunisia is cheap - not sure I'd go for two weeks but some people do. If your budget is a little more look at AI in Mexico (usually good weather in March) - there are often good deals.

try Madeira

I went to Maderia at Easter in early April and the weather was very mixed. Wet and windy one morning but comfortable to sit round the pool another afternoon.
In March I'd go for the canaries, north africa or the middle east if you want guaranteed warmth and sun but the later is unlikely to fall into the cheapest category.

I went in March and it was lovely. You might just have been unlucky

Marrakech could work if you can fly from your local airport.

try Tui, jet2 and easyJet holidays to compare prices

angelcake20 · 13/02/2025 15:05

How warm do you need; even the Canaries aren't very hot in March? Usually I'd say booking independently is much cheaper but at that time of year to a beach destination, you might get a good package deal. Tui have deals to Morocco and Tunisia but it will still be cool in the evenings and not that toasty in the day. Mexico is possibly the cheapest for proper hot.

mitogoshigg · 13/02/2025 15:09

Look at last minute breaks from the major operators, usually this will be cheaper than flights and accommodation at shorter notice as they have empty seats and rooms to fill.

TUI I'm most familiar with, their new offers come out on Tuesdays and there are extra special deals for those who are logged in. My dd has had amazing deals with under 2 weeks to go

Asswholes · 13/02/2025 16:20

I dont need it to be proper hot....would pref SC as not keen on hotels.
