Spreewald Berlin out of season

Has anyone been to Spreewald out of season? Visiting Berlin mid March and wondered if it's worth going? Had it been May to September I'd definitely be going for a day trip but slightly unsure if it's a good idea in March.

I think it depends on what you want to do there.
If you want to walk, then sure. If you want to take one of the boat trips, then they're not offered every day in winter (not speaking from personal experience, I just looked up "spreewald märz" and that's the information it gave).
My husband's birthday is mid March, and we often go walking in Grunewald (usually near Krumme Lanke) on his birthday unless the weather is particularly grim. Obviously the trees don't have their leaves yet, but lichen and mosses tend to be pretty vibrant, and blue jays and woodpeckers are already active.
Hope this helps.

I should make clesr that I'm talking about lakes around Berlin, and not Spreewald!
But there are many many lakes...and lots of forest.

We sometimes walk from S-Bahn Nikolassee, along one side of Krumme Lanke lake, finish at U-Bahn station U3 Krumme Lanke if you want a shorter walk, or U3 Oskar-Helene Heim if you want a bit longer (the Allied Museum on part of the original US airforce base is close to here, with the original checkpoint hut from Checkpoint Charlie, the one at Friedrichstrasse is a replica).
Or you can continue through to Grunewald S-Bahn if you want a longer walk, or of course any variation on this theme.

Thank you. Yes I did realise it wasn't Spreewald. The information you have provided has been very useful re the various walks and which stations to use. I am hoping the weather will be favourable for a walk in Grunewald as a break from the city.
