We like a bit of history, nice places to eat, Spanish vibe, walking.

where would we stay in Ibiza? Been looking at Ibiza town? Where would you recommend?

Who’s going? Budget?

Santa Eularia. Lots of restaurants - we found a lovely tapas place with a beautiful central courtyard - we liked it so much we went three times. Can walk along the coastal path and there's also buses to other parts of the island. We were going to get the bus to Ibiza Town but ran out of time.

I think outside Ibiza Town itself (at night) and San Antonio, there's little evidence of clubbing, although flights over can be horrific. We flew from Liverpool which was probably a mistake as most of the passengers had started the party in the airport bar. It was the only flight I'd ever been on where people were told to put their airport spirits in the overhead lockers and they weren't allowed to access them during the flight. Plus despite lots of music playing and running up and down the aisle, the pilot 'thanked them for being well behaved' so I dread to think how bad it could get. The way back was much calmer so everyone was probably partied out.

What time of year, the scene changes with the seasons

Are you hiring a car?

We stayed in Santa Eularia which has enough beachfront restaurants etc for a leisurely evening out and we drove to various places during the day for walks (DH uses the komoot app for routes - you have to pay a fee for world maps but it's been worth it) I can't recall the exact places but would've been that north part of the coast - we found lots of pretty walks and coves.

What’s a “reasonable budget”?!

pootleondown · 11/02/2025 08:14

I've just checked my photos and we went to a lovely little cove called Cala D'hort, and a place called Port de Sant Miguel (nice relaxed beach)

It's an island that lends itself to hiring a car, it's pretty small and it means you can get to places off the beaten track.

What board?

ibiza, or at least the really lovely parts, is…. Expensive

Bjorkdidit · 11/02/2025 08:25

We paid about £1k for a 4 nights package with Jet2. I priced it up separately but we booked late and apartments were £150 pn minimum and the flights would have pushed it over £1k before we started thinking about transfers so we went with the package as we just wanted an easy few days in the Med and we'd never been to Ibiza before.

Eating out didn't seem particularly expensive in that there were cheaper places available or obviously you could spend a lot more but we're happy with traditional local places with good Spanish food and not interested in shiny/cool decor or beach clubs.

What month was this?

Bjorkdidit · 11/02/2025 08:31

Last week in June last year, but we didn't book until about 2 weeks before - DP works away a lot in the summer but usually has a few days off at some point where we try and squeeze in a few days away, so it's a case of what is available for a semi-reasonable price. We're also a 50 something child free couple.

BigDahliaFan · 11/02/2025 09:30

We're looking at early September. But we are more looking at what areas to stay in - towns etc - rather than resort hotels or hotel recommendations.

We liked Port Soller in Mallorca and Palma and are looking for that sort of vibe.
