Hi my daughter turns 21 at the end of March and I feel very lucky that rather than a party she’d like to have a week on holiday somewhere beautiful with me. She’d really like to go long haul (as she’s only ever travelled in Europe) but really she’d like a boutique style pretty hotel (not loud and brash) but with a twin room..Does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps you’ve been somewhere on an all girls trip that fits the bill?

Miami? Loads to see & do and you could drive down to the Keys for a night or two. The jetlag going over isn't too bad, hits you more on the way back.

I did a med cruise with my dd, there were lots of 1 parent one young adult child combos on board (helped that a levels came out 3 days prior)

Let us know what you decide OP!

I’ll throw in another vote for Malta, or Las Vegas!!

We’ve been to Caribbean islands you can fly direct to, such as Antigua, Grenada, Barbados, St Lucia for a week. Went to the Maldives for a week with one daughter when she was around the same age, same time of year. Have also done a week in Mauritius which is quite easy as overnight each way despite the flight length.

I'd head due South to minimise jet lag as it's only a week. Kenya or S Africa, safari maybe but might be ££

Maybe somewhere in the south of France? It would temperate but still good people watching.

Sicily is also an option.

We took our sons to Prague for their 18ths. Just come back from Rome and it would be lovely in March

Valeria Malaga

Went with DD then aged 22 to Malaga for four days in February. We had a balcony room. Lovely time. Wasn't hot, but we could take our coats off!

I’d second this, I’ve been to Malaga city several times, loads to do, nice places to eat etc.
In fact I’m going with a friend in 6 weeks time to this very hotel! I’ve not stayed there before.

We went to Istanbul a few years ago - really enjoyed it, lots of energy, fascinating mix of east and west, it’s a great city to explore.

A bit off brief @jenthehen but would you consider Iceland, the Northern lights and hot spas and a fjord tour. March apparently is still do-able for darkness.

Newgirls · 19/02/2025 18:35

Miami is fun. It’s about 9-10 hour flight tho so might be too far? Beaches and hotels are amazing and lots to do exploring.

That's such a wonderful idea for a celebration! If you're considering long - haul destinations, I highly recommend Guilin in China. It's a place renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, with stunning karst landscapes and clear, meandering rivers.

In Guilin, you can find many charming boutique - style hotels. These hotels often offer a peaceful and elegant environment, perfect for a relaxing mother - daughter getaway. They usually have twin rooms available to meet your accommodation needs.

Getting around in Guilin is quite convenient, and you can explore the beautiful Li River, take a stroll in the ancient towns, and enjoy the local cuisine.

If you want to learn more about travel in Guilin and other parts of China, you can visit this travel website: https://chinatourdmc.com/. It provides a wealth of information about various travel destinations in China, including hotel recommendations, travel routes, and local attractions. It will surely help you plan a memorable trip.

I'm sure you and your daughter will have an amazing time creating beautiful memories together in this lovely place.

Thanks for all the recommendations, we chose an adult only boutique hotel in Mauritius in the end. A perfect mother daughter get away ☺️
