Looking to book a holiday in the summer holidays but can't seem to find anything under £3k??

Just want somewhere cheap and cheerful, sunny, beach and pool for a family of 3.

I've looked on Jet2, On the beach etc?

What am I missing?

We go on some lovely holidays and don't spend ££ as we like to go abroad 3x a year. Rarely go Jet2 or similar in the summer as it's always expensive so book seperately.

If going in summer hols you need to look at where cheap flights are (can be to some lovely places) and find an apartment or local hotel (in summer hols hotels can be £££ so prob best go for an apartment)

Examples of nice and cheap options would be - fly to Bergamo, get an apartment on the Italian Lakes in a less touristy village. Fly to Geneva, apartment on Lake Annecy. Fly to Barcelona airports and get a B&B in Sitges. Fly to Palma and find a hotel or apartment in Mallorca. There's heaps of others obvs! You'll be able to get flights for £600 if you've shopped around and accomodation for £1-2K depending.

Also booking outside summer can be so much cheaper. Croatia is v expensive but May is the start of the season there so half term is much cheaper for accomodation. Can get some fab packages to Greece or Mallorca in Oct as that's the end of their season.

We're a family of 4 and super picky, would probably spend under £3k all in.

I'm a cheap flights + airbnb fan as well. Increasingly now I'm erring to Northern Europe in summer then getting to a sunshine destination in October half term. If we are careful we could do both holidays for £3k for the basics (flights, accommodation, car hire) though realistically more like £4k (so each holiday is £1.5k-£2k for a family of four)

Cheap flights and separate accommodation. Usually spend about £2000 on hols to Spain or Portugal (2 adults, 1 child). School holidays (I work in a school).
Travel insurance essential as not so well covered as a package.
