What are the highlights ?
Are bikes or by foot best for getting around ?

Chocolate and churros at San Gines. Tapas at El Abuelo near the Plaza Mayor. The El Retiro park and the cable car. Brunch on the roof terrace at Jardin Secreto de SB (reservation needed) Guernica. Open top bus tour is shit! We did a very good free walking tour of the historical centre. Cocktails at one of the Skybars

One of my favourite places, it’s awesome. The big three art galleries are all really amazing - my fave is the Prado, but it depends on what you like. El Retiro park for a wander. Numerous tourists tours will be available I guess - those hop on hop off buses. I’ve never bothered with the football thing myself, lol, but I’m sure it’s great… Jealous, have a great time

Walking over bikes - you can cover a lot of ground and everything is pretty close.

El Retiro is great, plaza major for a wander, palace is wonderful. Some great restaurants - enjoy!

We took our son to Madrid for his 18th, he loved it … try to buy tickets if a match is on while you’re there but our credit card would not work on Real Madrid website, we had to get tickets via an agency
