Summer holiday using BA companion voucher - post A Levels

I know there have been lots of threads about holidays for teens, but we’ve got to use a BA companion voucher so it’s a little more complex. Dd will be 18 - it’s for 2026 because I’ll have to book a year in advance to get the business class Reward flights. I’ve looked at all the usual points forums but was hoping someone might have an idea I’ve not thought of.

Not Asia. And we like hiking. But don’t like lots of young kids. Like luxury but on a budget (Thailand was amazing for this). Also don’t mind glamping. I would love animals. Dh loves mountains. Dd loves luxury!

So at the moment we have options of Canada (probably Vancouver) or Lima using Iberia via Madrid.

By Asia do you mean SE Asia, or are you including India in that? I’ve had some great holidays in amazing hotels in India, and BA fly to enough cities there that you’re in with a chance with being able to us a companion voucher. Likewise South Africa / Kenya will give you good hotels, reasonable cost, mountains and animals! India routes more likely to have the new Club World seats at the moment, but that will likely have changed by next year.

Stuck with Vancouver and do Vancouver Island or the Rockies?

Alternatively anywhere in US and do multi centre.

Or Barbados.

Barbados is going to be humid / wet in July / August, but yes, there are plenty of parts of the US where hiking / wildlife can be linked to multi centre breaks. The Grand Canyon national park has amazing scenery and hiking, as do the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Thank you - these are the types of ideas I want! India is on the 2027 plan

How about Costa Rica or Guatamala? - lots of trekking and animals.

Switzerland , Peru, Iceland, Nepal (I know you said not Asian but it must be the best place in the world for hiking and also very cheap).

Guatemala is a fantastic destination and one of my top favourites but the Foreign Office
Is currently advising against travelling to certain parts.

Brazil? BA fly to both Rio and Sao Paolo and both cities are easier to get reward flights to than Asia. Heaps to do, wildlife in the Pantanal and Amazon, amazing beaches and scenery, Iguassu waterfalls, relatively cheap to stay and eat. Country is so huge so lots of variety.
Or Chile, Peru?

I hadn’t thought about Brazil, so thank you. Off to do some research!
