Hotel in France

We're going to Frejus in the South of France in August and we're driving down from Calais. We want to stay one night on the way down in the middle of France somewhere to break the journey up. Does anyone have any recommendations?

What route are you taking? We have stayed in his hotel south of Troyes - about 4 hours from Calais when going to the Alps. It is a motel so there could be issues about leaving children in rooms but the food is very good. Otherwise, I would look at the Logis de France website. There are lots of cheaper alternatives such as Formule 1 if you prefer.

We like Etap hotels. A couple of euros a night more than an F1 but you get a bathroom in the room not sharing. Never had any problems and always nice and clean.

Try the b and b hotels chain as well, new and very good value www.hotel-bb.com/resa.cgi Ps - am moving to Frejus this summer!

Villages and Campanile also offer motel type accomodation and Villages usually include a very nice buffet style continental breakfast in the price. Campanile buffets are usually good as well. Both chains also have ensuite.
