can anyone help us plan our holiday?? Suggested destinations but also itinerary would be so helpful.

We will take a trip over Easter (10 days) with our 3.5 and 5 year old. We are after guaranteed sun and warmth (26+). hate to say it this way, but we don’t want an obvious choice.. we don’t usually have means to travel like this so want to make it a memorable, somewhat adventurous experience. Budget up to £5k.

Watching with interest, I could have written your post. The problem I've found is flights have literally quadrupled since COVID so things that were accessible are less so and I'm finding it hard to see the wood for the trees.

All the places that come to mind for 26 degrees in april are long haul destinations, and I'm afraid your budget wouldn't stretch to that. Air tickets for somewhere closer like Florida or dubai would cost you at least £600pp.

What about somewhere in Spain or southern Italy? I think they could be within budget but not as warm (low 20s).

Weather in Cyprus/Turkey might be ok then, otherwise you are looking at long haul, Florida, Oman etc

Bali, Vietnam or Singapore?

Wendarl · 08/02/2025 19:56

I was thinking Vietnam, I know someone who visited and said is very child friendly but would t know where to start!

An Italian trip could be great, even if not such good weather, quite like idea of the train hopping. .

if anyone has experience on the above so let me know!

Vietnam is very child friendly. Recommend Da Nang, Ha long Bay, Hanoi. Super cheap as well.

But don't discount Bali- we just returned and had 7 nights in a beautiful 2 bed, 2 bath villa with private swimming pool for £300 total. Eating out and getting around also super cheap (about £1/£2) for fried rice, noodles, satay etc. The only big cost is the flights!

Cape Town is awesome in April.
Check out the weather in SE Asia before booking - we have been to Thailand and Singapore in April and was roasting - Vietnam may be similar in the South.
What about Zanzibar, Maldives, Sri Lanka all a bit closer

Would you be able to share a link to the villa or who you booked with please?
