Please recommend me a European holiday resort!

I am looking for a summer break for a week in a resort with a fun pool, a couple of different restaurants and maybe a playground and kids club. Ideally you would be able to walk to a village with restaurants and bars outside of the resort. Or maybe there would be a good bus or train service. Does not need to be on a beach and we would rent a car.

I have 2 kids aged 6 and 8.

I like the Eurocamp style holidays because of the accommodation – I’d stay in a premium 3 bedroom chalet. I don’t want a hotel because I don’t want all of us to be stuck in one room.

Any suggestions?

Do you mean "resort" in the traditional British sense of a seaside town, or in the more American sense of a large self-contained hotel/restaurant/beach/sports complex that you basically don't have to leave the whole time?

The second option - a complex where there is at least one restaurant and bar, swimming pool, ideally a food shop. We definitely will be leaving the compound everyday though so ideally in an area that would be nice to explore. I'm not aware of many places like this in America but we've been to a few in Europe, which is why I mentioned Eurocamp.

Thanks @boulevardofbrokendreamss this is the kind of thing I am looking for. Ideally though the campsite would be within walking distance of a town that had a few restaurants/bars that we could visit in the evening and not worry about driving back.
