European sheltered beach, no wind clear water & paddleboarding - does it exist?

Hello,
We dream of a holiday in Europe on a sheltered beach, not much wind with crystal clear water for amazing swimming & calm seas for paddleboarding (need to hire) - does it exist?! The emphasis is on no wind and calm seas (which may mean a bay rather than open straight coastline...). Not a fan of sitting on beach in a wind! Would stay in aparthotel/apartments (hotel with kitchenette ok) or campsite (mobile homes), ideally beachfront. Any beaches you've been to will be gratefully received! Bonus points for accommodation suggestions! We have 2 teens, eldest age 15. Thanks in advance

Port Soller in Mallorca.

If you need still waters, what about a lake rather than the sea? Lake Bled in Slovenia is cracking, for example.

Thanks for replies I'll look at those. Am wondering if weather at Lake Bled is a bit mixed...

Thanks ginasevern - is there a particular beach that has calm water and isn't windy with paddleboard hire in Sardinia you know of? I was wondering about Sardinia as a good option... does it get crazy hot?

Cala Galdana Menorca?

mitogoshigg · 05/02/2025 15:58

The Italian lakes are lovely

Hi Shambles123 yes thank you, Cala Galdana is amazing sheltered beach! but maybe a bit too quiet for teens... Cala Galdana with paddle boarding, a prom, shops, cafes - sorry if we're too fussy!
