Just that really! For a short trip with friends. Can’t seem to find too much about it.

It’s a run of the mill holiday resort full of hotels and bars featured by most of the cheaper package holiday companies - what do you need to know?

Is it like magaluf and very loud and full of 18 year olds? This is my concern!

we just want a nice hotel, beach and restaurants really and not too far from the airport

It won't be like Magaluf but will be resorty. It's very Irish, as far as I'm aware, what about Palma? That would definitely be my choice.
(No offence to anyone Irish, but its in Spain)<edited to add this

I think the general consensus is a beach holiday rather than a city break. I’m glad it’s not magaluf!

No OP isn’t not nice. There are far better resorts

I’m Irish and Palms would be my choice too 😊

Palma has a beach and is a small city, fab place.
Palma Nova would be better than Santa Ponsa if it needs to be a resort and not far from airport IMO.

If you want similar but I think somewhat nicer then pop to the next resort along Paguera- still handy for airport and bus into Palma but has the lovely camp de mar cove plus funky beach bars a cab ride away -

Santa ponsa is ok -it's not magaluf and has good beach - it's more older couples who own flats plus families as loads of apartments

Crikeyalmighty · 04/02/2025 13:42

We go to that area most years ( as a quick 5 day break) ( usually portals nous/palma combo or sometimes paguera ) and honestly paguera is nicer and 5 minutes away - some nice beach front bars and restaurants and a great beach ( it's much loved by Germans- so you do get more Germans there than Brits)

They all sound perfect, thank you

I'd have a look elsewhere, there is a nicer end to it but I didn't find many options for eating out that were great. There is a really tacky end which is mostly Brit and Irish pubs not my scene at all. Did stay in a lovely hotel though Fergus something so mainly hung out there with cocktails out and about near the beach in the evening
